What is Associates In Missions?
Associates In Missions is the official Short-Term missions placement service of Global Missions, UPCI. “AIM” is a 2-12 month program with an option to extend annually. We alsocurrently facilitate discovery and training events such as GoNext Weekends and Seminars, and process Associate In Missions, Associated Ministers, and Next Steps applications.
How Can You Get Involved?
If you haven’t already, attend one of our GoNEXT Seminars to discover opportunities, prepare your heart, and be encouraged to Go! Depending on your age, you may want to experience an AYC trip sponsored by the General Youth Division. Or, you may consider applying for our 8-week Next Steps summer training/apprenticeship program. For those who want to skip straight to an AIM appointment, you can apply for a 2-12 month AIM trip to an area in need of your talents and abilities. Additionally, Associated Ministers can apply with us.
For AIMers on a trajectory toward a career in missions, we now offer the Associate Missionary program. It is the recommended next area of service for AIMers to take before applying for Intermediate Missionary or Career Missionary appointments. Associate Missionaries are still part of our Short-Term Missions program but certain areas of promotion and fund-raising are expanded to allow them more access to our UPCI family of churches and donors. AIMers must have served at least 12 months on the field before applying. For further details, contact Pat Morgan.
Journey AIM Training Seminars
Journey AIM Training Seminars are annual 36-hour training conference held in Weldon Spring, Missouri in January. Though not mandatory, we encourage approved and pending AIMers to make every effort to attend. While here AIMers receive the necessary administrative and inspirational mix that fosters a community of well-functioning laborers on the field. It’s the perfect opportunity to meet missionary leaders from each region and ask questions in a safe environment.
